M-Tech initially focussed on consulting work in the fields of fluid mechanics and
thermodynamics as well as the design of thermal-fluid systems. However, it rapidly grew
into a multi-disciplinary engineering company that today offers the following range of

Although M-Tech's work covers a wide spectrum of engineering disciplines including project
management, systems engineering, materials selection for design and control system
design, its major competitive advantage lies in the fields of energy systems, both on the
supply-side and on the demand-side. In this regard M-Tech specialises in heat transfer,
fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, integrated system
simulation and optimization applied to the design, construction and commissioning of
energy systems.
On the supply-side M-Tech provides owner’s engineering services to Eskom for its coal and
gas-fired power stations as well as to Necsa on projects related to the nuclear energy
industry. M-Tech was also extensively involved with the development of the PBMR High
Temperature Reactor power plant project until 2009.
On the demand-side M-Tech provides a range of energy efficiency and demand-side
management products and services to a diverse client base including the large mining
houses and hotel and hospital groups.
