- Started his career at Eskom Matimba Power Station where responsibilities included plant optimization and performance enhancement focusing on the milling plant as well as other related plant components. Performed day to day maintenance coordination of the milling plant and fault finding. Other responsibilities included unit trip root cause investigations, mill trip root cause investigations, plant commissioning, optimization and start-up as well as RCMII analysis.
- Joined M-Tech Industrial in 2000 as an engineering consultant responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of an ISO9001 quality system.
Responsible for leading the verification and validation effort of Flownex.
Participant in the fifth Coordinated Research Program (CRP-5) of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for code validation.
- Technical consultant for the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR) project since 2000 responsible for technical management of various projects, technical consultancy on thermal-hydraulic analyses, design and optimization of the PBMR and subsystems.
- Part of the PBMR Micro Model (PBMM) project team that developed a world‑first closed loop, three-shaft, recuperative Brayton cycle.
- Design and development of various other experimental facilities for validation of Flownex.
Part of the PBMR Process Heat Team, consisting of representatives of various international companies, performing techno-economic investigating and concept designs for applying the PBMR reactor for process heat applications. This includes the Next Generation Nuclear Plant Initiative Pre-conceptual design in 2007 and various special tasks and projects in 2008 in preparation for the conceptual design of the NGNP.
- Responsible for various business development activities in M-Tech such as tender preparation, contract negotiations, contract management, financial management, and program management.
- Published four articles and presented papers at various international conferences on the subject of Software verification and validation, Thermal-fluid systems modelling and design and Nuclear process heat applications for hydrogen production and desalination.
